1. Ref email requested that post conduct a post-shipment
verification for an automated data processing machine exported as
No License Required by Gensler, Washington, DC.
2. On December 10, 2009 Export Control Officer met with a Mr. Tareq
Abu-Sukheila, General Manager of Gensler Abu Dhabi. Gensler is an
architectural firm with offices located worldwide
(www.gensler.com). Abu-Sukheila explained that the item for
verification was a Riverbed network appliance which allowed for
improved performance in data transfer between Gensler's worldwide
computer networks. Many IT files are architecture related and thus
are graphics intensive and this unit helps speed up the transfer of
such data. The Gensler Washington DC office provided all relevant
documentation and details to OEA and ECO. ECO was able to
physically verify that the item is located at Gensler's Abu Dhabi
office.
3. Post considers Gensler UAE to be a reliable recipient of U.S.
origin items.
