1. (C) On November 19, DCM delivered reftel demarche to Mohammed
Rashed Al Absi, Deputy Director of International Organizations at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Al Absi responded that resolutions in
the UN are a secondary concern to the real issues of settlements and
the status of Jerusalem. He said the situation appears to be
constantly changing, always for the worse from his perspective, and
that Palestinians and their supporters in the region need a reason to
take the peace process seriously again.
