Post received a response from Ivana Jelenic, head of the
Section for Biological Diversity, Directorate for
Environmental Protection, Croatian Ministry of Culture,
regarding reftel A questions. According to Jelenic, the GOC
supports the chair's recommendations and plans for the future
of the IWC. The GOC agrees that establishing one small
working group would improve the work of this year's annual
meeting, with an aim to developing solutions for adoption at
the 2009 annual meeting. The GOC's perspective is that the
size of the group is not crucial; it is important that all
different interests are adequately represented and that there
is willingness to work together as a team.
