Ambassador Adam Kobieracki, Director of the MFA Security
Policy Department, thanked DCM for the heads-up on the
upcoming Fried-Antonov meeting, and expressed appreciation
for the strong and clear U.S. position on CFE. Kobieracki
said the information was particularly useful in light of
Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Grudzinski's upcoming December
trip to Moscow to discuss Missile Defense-related
Transparency and Confidence-Building Measures. He noted that
Poland is one of the countries most affected by the treaty
and its adaptation, and asked that Poland be consulted
frequently on CFE-related issues. He said the GoP would very
much like to take part in any debriefs on the Fried-Antonov
meeting.
