Marschik, MFA director for Disarmament, Arms Control, and
non-Proliferation, regarding the MANPADS Threat Reduction
Initiative.
2. Marschik thanked us for informing the MFA of the
appointment of Ambassador Bloomfield as Special Envoy for the
MANPADS Threat Reduction Initiative. He called this is a
laudable initiative and requested additional information
regarding the program, especially the MANPADS ASSIST VISITS
(MAV),and how this could potentially benefit Austria.
