1. (SBU) EU Council Secretariat Southeast Asia official
Friederike Tschampa thanked USEU for the U.S. draft proposal
for the ARF Counterterrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC)
Workplan and non-paper, comments on Singapore's draft ARF
Review, and copy of A/S Hill's letter. She admitted the EU
has not been as focused on ARF issues in recent months due to
competing SE Asia priorities, particularly in Burma, but
expressed interest in hearing more information about U.S.
plans for like-minded coordination sessions ahead of the
Ottawa meeting. Tschampa agreed to follow up with any
further comments or questions about the documents.
