1. (SBU) The CDA delivered reftel demarche to Tajuri el-Sheradi
Tajuri, Director of UN Affairs at the General People's Committee
for Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation
(MFA-equivalent),on December 18. Tajuri said Libya was
inclined to view the request to briefly extend the UN
International Independent Investigation Commission (UNICC)
mandate favorably, but noted that its position had not yet been
finalized. He was non-commital On the issue of funding for the
Special Tribunal for Lebanon, but asked for more information on
the level of funding provided by other Arab states.
