1. (U) On September 18, post received a dipnote from the MFA
indicating that Georgia had completed the internal legal
procedures required for entry into the "Agreement between the
Government of Georgia and the Government of the United States
of America on the Protection and Preservation of Certain
Cultural Properties." Commission Chairman Warren Miller and
Ambassador Vasil Sikharalidze signed the agreement in
Washington on July 28. Below is an unofficial MFA
translation of the note.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia presents its
compliments to the Embassy of the United States of America in
Tbilisi and has the honor to inform it of the following:
Georgia has completed internal legal procedures necessary for
the entry into force of the "Agreement between the Government
of Georgia and the Government of the United States of America
on the Protection and Preservation of Certain Cultural
Properties" signed in Tbilisi on July 28, 2008.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia hereby requests
the Embassy to notify about the completion of internal legal
procedures necessary for the entry into force of the
above-mentioned Agreement.
