INITIATIVE TO COMBAT NUCLEAR TERRORISM
REF: SECSTATE 5399
Per reftel request, Poloff delivered demarche to the Georgian
MFA's Global Initiative point of contact Nestan Bejanishvili
on January 31. Bejanishvili said that the recent changes in
the Georgian government, including the replacement of the
Foreign Minister, has slowed their policy planning on Global
Initiative issues. She agreed that outreach to private
companies on combating nuclear terrorism is necessary and
would look at ways to involve private companies once the
changes within the Foreign Ministry were complete.
