MFA clarified with Post that Sweden will donate between
2008-2010 a total of 40 million euros (MEUR) to Georgia: 15
MEUR in 2008, 10 MEUR in 2009 and 15 MEUR in 2010. The funds
will be used to support closer ties with the EU, democracy
and human rights, economic development, and humanitarian aid.
Sweden is one of the two largest bilateral contributors in
Europe, together with Germany, which press states plans to
contribute 33.7 MEUR.
