YURI KIM, FEB 23-MAR 2, TO BEIJING, PYONGYANG, SEOUL
1. Department requests country clearance for Office of Korean
Affairs DPRK Unit Chief Yuri Kim to travel to Beijing en
route to Pyongyang to support the New York Philharmonic's
visit to North Korea February 25-27. Ms. Kim will then
travel to Seoul for consultations. Ms. Kim will arrive
Beijing February 23, travel to Pyongyang February 25, travel
to Seoul February 27, and depart from Seoul March 2.
Department thanks posts for all assistance.
2. FOR EMBASSY BEIJING: Department requests Embassy Beijing
arrange accommodations at the Grand Hyatt Hotel for February
23-25. Department also requests that Embassy Beijing name a
control officer and provide administrative support as needed.
Please provide cell phone and activate classified log-on.
3. FOR EMBASSY SEOUL: Department requests Embassy Seoul
arrange accommodations in Seoul for February 27-March 2 and
consultations as appropriate.
