DELISTING REQUEST
REF: SCSOB/DL/2008/OC.91
1. This is an action request. USUN is instructed to inform
the Focal Point that the United States has no objection to
the delisting requests for Jenkins DUNBAR. While Mr.
DUNBAR's request only concerns removal from the travel ban
list maintained by the UNSC Liberia Sanctions Committee, the
United States would also have no objection to delisting Mr.
Dunbar from the asset freeze list. We do not consider
Jenkins Dunbar to pose an ongoing threat to the peace and
stability in Liberia and the subregion, and we do not believe
he has ongoing ties to former Liberian President Charles
Taylor. If delisted by the UNSC Liberia Sanctions Committee,
Mr. Dunbar (DOB: 10 Jan 1947) would no longer be subject to
the measures imposed by paragraph 4 of UN Security Council
resolution 1521 (2003) and paragraph 1 of resolution 1532
(2004),which include a travel ban and asset freeze.
2. Department appreciates Mission's efforts.
