SUBJECT: USUN INSTRUCTION: CHARLES BRIGHT FOCAL POINT
DELISTING REQUEST

REF: SCSOB/DL/2008/OC.80

1. This is an action request. USUN is requested to inform
the Focal Point that the United States has no objection to
the delisting request for Charles BRIGHT. We do not consider
Charles BRIGHT to pose an ongoing threat to peace and
stability in Liberia and the subregion. Mr. BRIGHT appears
to no longer have ongoing ties to former Liberian President
Charles Taylor. If delisted by the UNSC Liberia Sanctions
Committee, Mr. BRIGHT (DOB: 29 Aug 1948) would no longer be
subject to the measures imposed by paragraph 4 of UN Security
Council Resolution 1521 (2003) and paragraph 1 of resolution
1532 (2004),which includes a travel ban and asset freeze.

2. (U) Department appreciates Mission's efforts.
