1. On January 14 POLOFF met with Deputy Secretary of State
Jose Manuel Trulolls and Deputy Secretary of State for
Foreign Affairs, Alejandra Liriano, regarding the candidacy
of Pierre Prosper for the CERD. Liriano confirmed that the
Dominican Government will support the candidature of Prosper
and took time to comment positively on Prosper's
international experience and "excellent qualifications."
