1. (S) On 9 July 2008, Consulate General Dhahran convened a
core Emergency Action Committee to discuss the recent attack
against the US Consulate General in Istanbul, Turkey. In
attendance were the CG, RSO, and POLOFF, and an RAO
representative was consulted.
2. (S) The EAC reviewed the current information concerning
the attack, the majority of which was from open sources. The
RSO noted that increased security measures were already in
place and that the Consulate's current threat condition was
at Charlie. The EAC noted that it was unaware of any
specific threat information against ConGen Dhahran and agreed
that the current security posture was appropriate.
