Brusbardis, European Correspondent at the MFA. Regarding
Belarus, Latvia will support a six-month suspension of most
of the visa ban list, but leaving Lukashenko on the list.
Brusbardis stated that GOL is "trying to look on the bright
side" of Belarussian efforts to reach out to the West.
2. (U) Regarding Georgia, GOL remains committed to a "no
business as usual" policy toward Russia, but does not expect
significant progress in discussions on Georgia at the GEARC.
There was no substantive response regarding Zimbabwe.
