1. (C) Poloff discussed Serbia's resolution to refer a
question on the legality of Kosovo's declaration of
independence to the International Court of Justice with
Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Chief of Service of the
Principle Bodies of the United Nations Redoune Houssaini on
October 8. Houssaini reported that other European countries
have delivered the same demarche to the MFA.
2. (C) Houssaini noted that Morocco has not yet officially
recognized Kosovo as an independent nation nor have they
taken a position on Serbia's resolution. Houssaini said that
Morocco will not take a position on Kosovo without
considering their Arab League constituency but added that he
would share the U.S. position on Serbia's resolution with MFA
Chief of Cabinet Nasser Bourita.
