1. (S) Paramaribo Emergency Action Committee (EAC) convened
June 11, 2008, to review Post's security plans for its
Independence Day celebrations on July 4 and July 5.

2. (S) EAC discussed current threat environment and has
detected no current intelligence to indicate a heightened
threat level. EAC determined the risk for July 4 events to
be low at this time. EAC determined that Post's security
plans for both the official reception (July 4) and the
unofficial American community celebration (July 5) are
commensurate with the current threat environment in Suriname.

3. (S) EAC reported that post has full cooperation and
support of GOS security services and feels they are
adequately equipped and prepared to supplement and support
Post's security measures for Independence Day celebrations.
