1. (C) According to Department of Foreign Affairs and
International Trade (DFAIT) Deputy Director for
Non-Proliferation Shawn Caza, at the upcoming IAEA General
Conference Canada will seek to kill a resolution on "Israeli
nuclear capability" with a no-action motion. The way that
support for the resolution appears to be lining up so far,
however, success seems less likely this year that last, he
remarked. Canada will nonetheless press ahead with its
attempt to derail it, he confirmed. Caza will serve as his
country's point of contact for U.S. officials working the
issue at the Conference.
