Norwegian MFA Assistant Director General Dag Halvorsen,
leader of the MFA's Caucaus section expressed broad agreement
with the U.S. objections to possible Russian recognition of
Abkhazia and South Ossetia. This is in line with FM Stoere's
earlier public statements expressing support for the
territorial integrity of Georgia. The GON is not planning
any further communications with the Russian government on
this issue.
