1. (C) Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Disarmament and
International Security (DISA) Director Amandeep Singh Gill
thanked poloff April 1 for the "interesting" reftel non-paper
and related that he believed India's "existing notifications"
fulfill the requirements of UN Security Council Resolution
1803. "Our preliminary conclusion is that the terms are all
satisfied," he stated, and reiterated that India has
consistently upheld its UN obligations. As with past
Iran-related resolutions, he expected the MEA's UN Political
Division office to convene a formal interministerial meeting
soon to discuss how best to implement UNSCR 1803.
