1. (SBU) PolOff delivered reftel demarche points soliciting
Bahamian support for a planned U.S. draft resolution on
compliance with non-proliferation, arms limitations and
disarmament agreements to be introduced at the UNGA First
Committee during the 63rd UNGA session to Ministry of Foreign
Affairs Under Secretary Marilyn Zonicle. Ms. Zonicle
inquired about the changes from the 2005 resolution of the
same content and about Caribbean sponsorship of the previous
text. PolOff provided the draft text of the resolution and
stressed common interest in regional security and global
non-proliferation (ref B) in asking for GCOB support and
co-sponsorship.
