1. PolOff met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for
International Cooperation and Economic Integration Conmany Wesseh
August 29 to deliver reftel demarche. Wesseh said that the Sirleaf
Administration takes pandemic influenza very seriously but that the
issue often falls below other pressing priorities. He said he would
pass the information about the conference to the Ministries of
Health and Agriculture and ask them to consider sending
representatives. If it is not financially possible for the GOL to
send someone from Monrovia, Wesseh said that he would ask that
Liberia's Ambassador to Egypt be tasked to attend.
