SUBJECT: LIBREVILLE - POST ENDORSES FY2009 SECTION 1206
PROPOSAL


1. (SBU) Post fully endorses the FY2009 proposal for Section
1206 funding for Gabon and Sao Tome (STP) that was submitted
by EUCOM. The funding is for Peace Support Operations
training that are in keeping with Post's mission objectives.
This training force will deploy to the Gulf of Guinea as part
of NAVEUR's Africa Partnership Station aboard the USS
Nashville, from January to June 2009. This focused training
will increase the operational capacity and interpretability
of those forces to support international Peace Support
Operations in Africa.
