1. In response to DCM's inquiry per reftel, the Permanent
Secretary in the Government of Jamaica (GoJ)'s Ministry of
National Security, Gilbert Scott, has provided the following
information:
(A) The Minister of National Security, Colonel Trevor
MacMillan, will represent the GoJ at the DMA VIII September
2-6 in Banff. He will be accompanied by:
-- Permanent Secretary Scott
-- Deputy Chief of Defence Staff Colonel Anthony Anderson
-- a (yet-to-be-identified) senior policy advisor from the
Ministry's staff
-- Mrs. MacMillan
-- a security guard.
(B) The GoJ has reviewed the agenda for DMA VIII and has
participated in preparatory discussions, but does not plan to
raise any particular additional topics.
(C) Minister MacMillan would welcome an opportunity to meet
with Secretary Gates, if feasible (ref B).
