CONGRATULATORY LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT
1. Post has received a diplomatic note from the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica requesting transmission of the
following congratulatory message from the Honorable Bruce Golding,
Prime Minister of Jamaica, to the Honorable George W. Bush,
President of the USA, on the occasion of the commemoration of the
Anniversary of Independence:

" On behalf of the government and People of Jamaica, I wish to
express sincere and heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the
232nd anniversary of the independence of the United States of
America.
On the solid foundations that were laid by your founding fathers,
the American people have built a nation that is strong and proud and
provides leadership to the world.
Our two countries have enjoyed an enduring and vibrant relationship,
evidenced by many cooperative programmes and initiatives at the
bilateral and regional levels. Jamaica attributes great value to
the relationship and is appreciative of the many forms of assistance
we have received from the United States and the goodwill your
country has shown toward us.
Please accept, Mr. President, our best wishes for your personal
well-being and for the continued peace and prosperity of the
