On February 1, Rudra Nepal, Under Secretary for UN and
International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs (MFA),confirmed that the Government of Nepal (GON)
does not intend to send anyone to the Global Initiative
Nuclear Detection Architecture Model Guidelines Document
workshop in Washington, DC, March 31 - April 1 (Ref A). The
Under Secretary said the MFA had been unable to locate anyone
in the GON with the relevant technical expertise. The MFA
previously had reported that, in addition to no experts, it
did not have the budget to send delegates to the workshop
(Ref B).
