UNESCO YOUTH CONFERENCE

(U) On May 7, Poloff delivered reftel invitation to attend
the June youth conference, hosted by the United Nations
Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO),
to Ambassador Hasan Javed, the Director General of the United
Nations and Economic Cooperation Desk at the MFA. Poloff
explained the purpose of the conference and encouraged the
GOP to nominate Pakistani youth to attend. Javed noted the
importance of giving the youth of Pakistan all available
avenues in pursuing happy, productive lives and said he would
forward the invitation to the appropriate concerned parties.
