1. U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou is pleased to announce its
newest communication tool -- South China SEZ -- an interactive blog
hosted on the OpenNet's Communities @ State website. South China
SEZ is a "special exchange zone" on the economic and political
issues affecting the Pearl River Delta (PRD) and other parts of the
four provinces that make up Guangzhou's consular district --
Guangdong, Fujian, Guangxi and Hainan.

2. Topics discussed on South China SEZ will include economic
conditions, trade, intellectual property rights (IPR),local
politics, labor, human rights, health issues, energy and the
environment as they relate to the consular district's diverse
population of 225 million people. Postings will feature Qily press
summaries, weekly excerpts from South China's online chatrooms,
selections from and supplements to our front-channel cable
reporting, links to media articles and informal commentary on
developments in South China. The postings will be archived by
subject, and readers can subscribe online to receive email
notifications of new content.
