1. (SBU) This is communication of a formal diplomatic request
from the Government of Guyana (GoG) to the USG for provision
of a forensic pathology team to assist in a criminal
investigation.
2. (SBU) Begin text of cover Diplomatic Note:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guyana
presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States
of America and has the honor to forward herewith a
communication from the Hon. Clement Rohee, Minister of Home
Affairs of Guyana to Mr. Michael B. Mukasey, Attorney
General, U.S. Department of Justice and hereby requests the
kind assistance of the Embassy in transmitting this
communication to its high destination.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guyana
avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of
the United States of America the assurances of its highest
consideration.

of a forensic pathology team to conduct investigations into a
crime scene in the Berbice River area. Eight bodies were
discovered burnt practically beyond recognition.
