1. (S/NF) Embassy Freetown welcomes the information provided
in reftel and requests additional information in reference to
the shipment of a cargo container by Hizballah. Information
as listed below, if provided, could help identify the
consignee of the cargo and allow for a more thorough
investigation. Volume at the port of Freetown is small and
embassy connections good, providing an excellent opportunity
to follow up on information in reftel.


2. (S/NF) Post specifically requests the following:

- Originating country of the container
- Name of the company used for this shipment
- Rough (or exact, if available) time shipment and ETA
to Sierra Leone
- Name of person who shipped container
- Name of person receiving container in Sierra Leone
- Possible Contents as stated on the manifest


3. (S/NF) Per referenced report, FBI comments that the
source is available for recontact. If possible, post
requests that the source be recontacted to provide additional
information. Port of embarkation and approximate time frame
alone might be sufficient to track down and verify the
suspect container.


4. (S/NF) Post requests any additional cables or reports
related to this, or similar incidents.
