SUBJECT: EAC DISCUSSES SECURITY POSTURE FOR JULY 4TH EVENT

REF: STATE 58161

1. (SBU) On June 3, 2008, the Freetown Emergency Action
Committee convened to review Post's security posture in
preparation for the Independence Day event to be held in the
Chancery. The DCM, RSO, MGT, POL, DAO, USAID, A/PAO, GSO and
ARSO were in attendance. The EAC agreed that the Embassy
security posture is commensurate with the current threat
environment. The RSO briefed the EAC that additional police
and local guard force personnel will be deployed during the
July 4th reception to provide additional security.

2. (U) EAC members concurred that a warden message to
American citizens in country was not warranted.
