1. On November 26, Econoff delivered reftel demarche to
Martin Finucane, Principal, Sustainable and Renewable Energy
Division at the Department of Communication, Energy, and
Natural Resources. Finucane said that the Irish government
will review the U.S. government's position as it prepares for
the December European Council meeting. He agreed that
compatibility between U.S. and EU legislation and regulations
would be the ideal outcome but noted that Ireland would, of
course, be bound by the Council's and European Parliament's
decision on the matter.
