POLOFF spoke on June 10 with Michael Keaveney, Desk Officer,
Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Division, Department of
Foreign Affairs (DFA). Keaveney stated that Ireland would
definitely participate in the Global Initiative meeting in
Spain, June 16-18. DFA is currently deliberating with the
Department of Justice and the Department of Environment to
ascertain who specifically from those two Departments will
represent Ireland. If Ireland has not already registered for
the conference, Keaveney said, it will do so as soon as the
delegates are identified. He reaffirmed that DFA had
received the Spanish invitation as well as all the relevant
information for registration.
