1. (U) Ireland endorses the Statement of Principles of the
Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism, according to a
diplomatic note received at post on May 1.

2. (U) Note No. 157/08. The Department of Foreign Affairs
presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States
of America and has the honour to refer to the Global
Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism launched on 15 July
2006 and to inform that Ireland endorses the Statement of
Principles adopted on 20 November 2006. A Note in similar
terms is being sent to the Embassy of the Russian Federation.
The Department of Foreign Affairs avails itself of this
opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the United States of
American the assurances of its highest consideration.
