A message to Senator Barack H Obama
President-elect of the United States of America

Senator,

Congratulations on your election as the 44th President-elect
of the United States of America. On behalf of the Bangladesh
Nationalist Party (BNP) and on my own personal behalf, I
extend to your our heartfelt felicitations.

Your historic victory is a reflection not only of your own
personal charm and charisma but also your energetic drive,
determination and all-embracing multi-dimensional approach.
Your clarion call of "change" has reverberated around the
globe bringing new hope, new ideas and a bold new vision for
America as well as the rest of the world.

We all have a stake in the outcome of this election. I am
confident that with you at the helm of affairs, there will be
a more responsible, more just and caring United States in
partnership with all countries in the furtherance of our
common goals of global peace and security.

Bangladesh has close and cordial relationships with the
United States in multifaceted ways, including the role and
contribution of our expatriate community who has made America
their home. My party and I, look forward to strengthening and
consolidating these long standing ties in new and imaginative
directions.

Yours sincerely,
/signed/
Khaleda Zia
Chairperson
