1. (S) Poloff delivered reftel demarche to MFA Foreign
Service Officer Noel Kaganda on December 15. Kaganda said
that there was no military or scientific cooperation
currently underway or planned with Iran. However, when FM
Membe visited Tehran in November (see ref B),media reported
the two countries agreed to increase cooperation in the areas
of agriculture and cultural exchange, as well as that Iran
would forgive some of Tanzania's debt.
