1. (U) This is an action request - please see para 4 below.


2. (U) Poloff conveyed reftel request for the GOA to submit
its letter of commitment for its planned contribution to the
UN Trust Fund for Electoral Assistant to Evan Gallagher,
International Organizations Branch, Department of Foreign
Affairs and Trade, and Richard Sisson, Director for Global
Programs for Development and Partnerships, UN and Africa,
AusAID on June 5.


3. (SBU) Sisson advised he had signed the GOA commitment
letter and conveyed it to New York on June 4. He reconfirmed
that the Australian commitment was for a contribution of AUD
500,000 (approx. USD 478,500). He requested confirmation of
the amount the U.S. planned to contribute.


4. (U) ACTION REQUESTED: Embassy would appreciate details of
the planned U.S. contribution to the UN Trust Fund for
Electoral Assistance for the Zimbabwe run-off election to
share with the GOA.
