1. (U) Poloff met with Assistant Secretary for International
Organizations Andrew Goledzinowski March 20 to deliver the
non-paper and points in Ref A. Goledzinowski, who will
shortly transfer to New York to take up his new posting as
Deputy Permrep, was joined by Evan Gallagher,
Secretary-General of the Australian National Commission for
SIPDIS
UNESCO who is also responsible for multilateral democracy
issues in the International Organizations Branch, and
Executive Officer David Lewis.
2. (SBU) Goledzinowski noted that it would require some time
to review the non-paper, including briefing the senior levels
of the new Rudd government who were not up to speed on the
APDP, and to consult within the interagency on questions
associated with scheduling the next APDP meeting in Asia.
(Note: In addition, Friday, March 21, and Monday, March 24,
are official Australian holidays (Good Friday and Easter).)
