1. Embassy delivered Acting Under Secretary Rood's invitation
to attend the PSI Fifth Anniversary events, along with the
logistical information and proposed agendas, to Mr. David J.
Ritchie, Deputy Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs and
Trade (DFAT),on March 11, 2008.
2. Mr. Michael Kourteff, Acting Director for
Counter-Proliferation, DFAT, later confirmed to us that Mr.
Ritchie is tentatively planning to lead the Australian
delegation to the PSI functions in Washington in late May,
contingent on timing of a possible Trilateral Strategic
Dialogue Senior Officials Meeting that is scheduled to take
place in Japan also in late May.
