1. (U) We delivered the USG invitation to the Contact Group
on Somali Piracy (CGSP) meeting in January to Lee Kerr,
Director, UN and Commonwealth Section, Department of Foreign
Affairs and Trade (DFAT). She will forward the invitation,
CGSP objectives, and meeting details to senior DFAT officials
as well as the Australian delegations in Washington and New
York. She acknowledged the USG desire for a response by
December 31 and indicated that every effort would be made to
achieve a timely response.
