1. (SBU) In a meeting November 7 with PolOff concerning the
designation of the Export Development Bank of Iran (EDBI) and
its affiliates under E.O. 13382 with Director General of
International Organizations in the Ministry of External
Relations Ambassador Adolphe Nahayo. Ambassador Nahayo, said
that Burundi will respect the designation of the Export
Development Bank of Iran (EDBI) and its affiliates under E.O.
13382; stressed that Burundi does not currently have ties
with and would not pursue associations with Iranian financial
institutions, and confirmed that Burundi has no associations
with the financial entities in Venezuela.
