1. Economic officer delivered the subject demarche to Mr
Geert Cockx of the Internal Markets Division at the Belgian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs on November 7. Cockx was aware
of the third maritime security package in general but not
familiar with recognized organizations or with the USG
concerns shared from reftel. He said he would ensure USG's
points would be brought to the attention of Belgium's
representatives involved in the conciliation process between
the European Council and the European Parliament.
