1. (S) On the margins of a meeting on another topic, EAP/CM
Director shared ref A points providing additional information
to China to use in investigating the supply of aluminum
plates to an entity associated with Iran's cruise missile
program with MFA North America and Oceania Affairs Department
Counselor Cong Peiwu on December 19. Cong said he would pass
the information to colleagues in the Arms Control and
Disarmament Department. (Note: MFA Arms Control and
Disarmament Department officials continue to be "unavailable"
to meet with PolOffs since the October 3 announcement of U.S.
arms sales to Taiwan, which prevented detailed discussion of
this issue.)
