1. Turkmenistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on March 17
under cover of a diplomatic note forwarded a letter from
Minister of Defense Agageldi Mammetgeldiyev responding to Ref
A request urging the Government of Turkmenistan to submit its
Hague Code of Conduct Against Ballistic Missile Proliferation
annual declaration by March 31, 2008. The letter reads as
follows:
BEGIN TEXT
The Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan presents its
compliments to the Embassy of the United States of America in
Turkmenistan and, in accordance with the annual declaration
"nil form," has the honor to inform you that there are no
ballistic missiles in Turkmenistan.
Moreover, Turkmenistan does not have its own program of
ballistic missiles and does not participate in other programs.
Joining the International Code of Conduct against Ballistic
Missile Proliferation (signed in The Hague on November 25,
2002),Turkmenistan precisely performs the requirements of
this document.
