1. (SBU) Per reftel request, AIT/T contacted Chung Shan Institute of
Science and Technology (CSIST) Procurement Office and received
confirmation of the order and the stated end-use.
2. Mr. Liu Sheng-tsai, CSIST Procurement Official, confirmed the
order for subject commodities and the end-use stated in the reftel.
3. Mr. Liu also stated that Evergo Instruments Inc., a Taiwan
trading company, is the contractor to purchase the commodities on
CSIST's behalf. He further stated that Evergo has been a CSIST
contractor for the past four to five years.
4. According to Mr. Liu, CSIST is familiar with USML re-export and
retransfer restrictions.
