1. On March 4, PolOff delivered demarche and associated
nonpapers on UN Security Council (UNSC) sanctions against
Iran approved March 3 per SECSTATE 21770 to Nigerian Ministry
of Foreign Affairs Deputy Director for International
Organizations Charles A. Ononye. Mr. Ononye expressed
support for a tougher line on Iran and assured PolOff that
the GON would live up to its obligations per UNSC Resolution
1803.
2. In an earlier conversation, February 28, PolOff discussed
the issues raised in SECSTATE 19200 and 19694 with Mr. Ononye
and subsequently delivered the relevant nonpapers.
