1. (C) We discussed reftel points with Donatas Ziugzda and
Rigale Karciauskaite of the MFA's Arms Control,
Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Divison on October 26.
They planned to contact Lithuania's EU representative office
in Brussels with reftel information. They suggested that
Lithuania could, via its involvement with the EU working
groups on export control or nonproliferation, raise the
concerns related to Iran. In addition, they mentioned that
they would keep this information in mind when considering
approving Lithuanian exports to Iran or for future requests
from Iranian officials for visits to Lithuania.

2. (C) According to Ziugzda, Lithuania does not have
extensive trade or relations with Iran. The MFA considers
some requests to export Lithuanian products to Iran, as part
of an interministerial group which is activated when a
request for an export license is received by the Ministry of
the Economy for products on EU or Lithuanian control lists.
In this setting, the MFA has previously stopped any exports
to Iran it considered inappropriate.
