Franz Josef Kuglitsch, the Austrian MFA's acting Middle East
Director, and Wolfgang Lapuh, the MFA's DAS-level Near East
Director.
2. (C) Kuglitsch and Lapuh confirmed press reports that
Austrian Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik has invited NUG
Foreign Minister Ziad Abu Amer to visit Vienna. They noted
that the press had reported a strong Israeli condemnation of
the Austrian move. However, they said they had not heard
from the Israelis privately on the issue.
