1. (SBU) The GONL will support the Provincial Justice
Coordination Mechanism (PJCM) at the July 2-3 Rome Rule of
Law Conference on Afghanistan. MFA Afghanistan Desk Officer
Jurian Muller said the Dutch are working on a multi-year
pledge for the Multilateral Funding Mechanism; this pledge is
currently before Development Minister Bert Koenders for
approval. Koenders also will lead the Dutch delegation at
the Rome conference. According to Muller, Dutch bilateral
assistance to the Afghan justice sector for 2007 has amounted
to approximately 3 million euros, with an emphasis on
transitional justice. Muller discussed reftel points with
polmiloff on June 28.
